FORM PROVOCATION  IN THE NAME OF HIGHER AIMS
Out of sheer modesty they don’t feel photographers yet. Although they rake through Photoshop as they don’t have a darkroom, they don’t call themselves graphic designers  either. Their works, which are neither photo montages nor graphic works are connected by a mega thread of time-memories-life. They differ in approaching the subject: Beata presents places, Wojtek, people. In addition, there is pugnacious technique of authorial collage which is one more attempt to find a fresh idea for a photograph.
Their work reminds me of a scandal that took place at the end of 19th century when Edouard Manet had a new idea for means of expression in painting. It was a return to pure colours, as a starting point for painting – even – brown and dark.
He was inspired by the discovery of spectrum - the nature of the light. Which happened at that time…So as not to vanish in a big family of painters, he added to his paintings a sharp theme, often provoking the world of art. Reaction of  the audience in those days proved to be stronger than expected and no one except for the future impressionists noticed the new genius technique. However,  Mysior’s and Bykowski’s situation is  reverse to the one of Manet’s: for them, the theme is crucial, and form just tempts a viewer to delve deeper in the content. This is how I see it, and I keep wondering what the reaction of an audience and photographic family will be.
